BP3:  Persian Scale


Persian scale and weight box, carat type, 19th century. The elaborately decorated box measures 32 cm long x 18.5 cm wide x 6.2 cm high; the two steel scales are 27.7 cm long and 10.2 cm long, respectively, with 12.5 cm and 4.7 cm brass pans respectively. There are 10 of 10 steels weights numbered 10, 5, 3, 2, 1 and 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 respectively.
