CIN14:  Nuremberg Nested Weights


Nuremberg nested weights for Italian use, 18th century. The master cup measures 12.3 cm diameter at the top x 8.1 cm diameter at the bottom x 8.3 cm high. Total theoretical weight =12 pounds; case = 6 pounds; 3 pounds, 2 pounds, 16 ounces, 8 ounces, 4 ounces, 2 ounces, 1 ounce respectively/cup. Outside of lid marked with a "B" and seahorse; inside marked with shield of Austria-Hungary and of Savoy, and the seahorse. Identified by Lavagne & Kisch. Reference: Kisch.
